UG Brother of the Month (July 2019)

Christian Jordan is a native of Nashville, TN where he attended MLK Academic High School. During his time at MLK, he demonstrated leadership abilities as he was granted team captain of the varsity baseball team by his teammates. Outside of school and athletics, Christian volunteered at the YMCA where he educated the youth on sex and healthy living. Christian also worked a part-time job at Champ’s Sports as a sales associate where he started his retail experience. After graduation, Christian accepted an athletic scholarship to play baseball at Cumberland University.

             At Cumberland University, Christian is involved in many activities and organizations. Christian is a spring 2019 initiate of the of Rho Rho chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity Inc. and a President’s Ambassador. As a President’s ambassador, Christian must maintain a GPA above a 3.0, mentor two freshmen, and recruit and tour students on the university’s campus. Also, Christian was recommended by his professor to be an algebra tutor on campus as well. Christian is involved with all these things on campus, plus maintaining a GPA above a 3.0 while being a member of the University’s baseball team.

Christian enjoys language and culture and is an avid supporter of diversity in the workplace. He uses his magnetic personality and critical thinking skills to solve problems presented to him. Christian is interested in solving global business problems both individually and as a member of a team. He eagerly pursues new tasks and challenges and has purposefully sought internships in different functions to stretch his business acumen. He is seeking opportunities in supply chain, purchasing, and marketing that will give him a holistic view of business management.

Christian is currently looking for an internship or job offer in the business field, where he can gain experience in retail and business management. Christian’s experience with retail will help him with his business administration and sports management bachelor’s degree.
